One ticker forever

Each ticker, name and image launches once. The first coin keeps them for good.

On Mooner a ticker belongs to one coin, forever. So do its name and its image. There is never a second $PEPE to confuse buyers or split a coin's liquidity, not while the coin trades, not after it graduates, not after it dies.

How it works

  1. At launch, Mooner's contracts register the ticker and the name. They write two on-chain records, each keyed by a folded form of the text (below): the contracts fold the ticker themselves; the name is folded by the launch service, which signs the result. Creating a record that already exists fails, so a second launch of the same ticker or name fails on-chain, in the same transaction, whatever app sends it.
  2. Records are never deleted. Nothing can remove a launched coin's ticker or name. The first coin keeps them for good.
  3. Images are checked before launch. Mooner's launch service compares the image with every coin ever launched, by a perceptual fingerprint that survives re-encoding, resizing, light recoloring and small watermarks. The contracts only accept launches co-signed by that service, so an image copy can't launch through another app either.

Reserved tickers

A short list of tickers that belong to existing assets, such as HYPE and USDC, is reserved so nobody can launch a fake of them.

Why it matters

When a name can launch only once, everything a coin earns stays with it: its holders, its liquidity, its community, its search results. Buyers never have to guess which one is the original, and creators never watch a copy siphon off what they built.
