How to launch a coin
- Connect a wallet. See Connect a wallet.
- Pick a ticker, a name and an image. They are checked against every coin ever launched on Mooner; copies and look-alikes are refused. See One ticker forever.
- Choose the max per wallet: 1%, 2% or 3%. It applies to every wallet, yours included, and cannot be changed later by you or anyone. See Max per wallet.
- Optionally make the first buy. It lands in the same transaction as the launch, at the curve's opening price, and counts toward your own max like anyone else's.
- Launch. Your coin is created with 1,000,000,000 tokens: 793,100,000 on its bonding curve, the rest set aside for its pool at graduation.
What it costs
| Item | Amount | Goes to |
|---|---|---|
| Launch fee | 0.015 HYPE | The protocol |
| Network fee | A small fee in HYPE | The network |
| Your first buy, if any | What you choose | The curve, plus the 1% trading fee |
The launch fee exists for one reason: tickers are unique forever, so registering one must cost something. Without it, a single person could claim every short ticker for the price of the network fees alone.
Where the chart starts
A coin needs no money to have a price. Its curve opens at a market cap of about 42 HYPE, set by its virtual reserves, so the launch fee never goes into the coin: it goes to the protocol.
The first candle is the first buy. If you make one at launch, your buy is that candle, and nobody else can buy in the launch block. If you don't, the chart starts with whoever buys first.
After launch, you earn 0.30% of every trade on your coin's curve, and keep earning after it graduates. See Creator rewards.
